This is a pairing of two different traditions: Sicilian & Zimbabwean. Rova Ngoma is a Zimbabwean melody played on the mbira and ‘Rova Ngoma’ means, “play the drum.” In Palumedda, a Sicilian song of courtship, the beloved is compared to a little dove with wings of silver.
